baraka
20 may 2009
IFIF as the great pleasure to screen for the first time in Portugal, on the 14th of September  2009 in “Docs on the Rocks”  the full version of the film “Baraka” created by Ron Fricke from the Producer Mark Magidson, with music from Michael Stearns and others.
-
The title Baraka is a word that means blessing in many different languages.

The movie was filmed at 152 locations in 24 countries: Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Cambodia, China, Ecuador, Egypt, France, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kenya, Kuwait, Nepal, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Tanzania, Thailand, Turkey, and the United States. It contains no dialogue. Instead of a story or plot, the film uses themes to present new perspectives and evoke emotion purely through cinema.

The film has no plot, contains no actors and has no script. Instead, high quality 70mm images show some of the best, and worse, parts of nature and human life.
