The festivals first edition was held In Idanha-a-Nova, in 2009.
Encouraged by the positive response from our First Edition we are therefore delighted to announce the IF IF Film festival, “Docks on the Rocks” in Montemor-o-Novo, Portugal.
“Histórias do Mundo” is a nonprofit association producing the IFIF.
HISTÓRIAS DO MUNDO
The association “Histórias do Mundo” was founded in 2009 to organize music and film festivals with the concept of sustainability.
Collaborating with the City of Idanha-a-Nova, Historias do Mundo held with great success the IFIF – “Docs on the Rocks” film festival. Screening environment films in the city and projections on the walls of their monuments.
In 2010, the association was preparing for 2011, another edition of IFIF - Docs on the Rocks and the first edition of one of the most prestigious international festivals - WOMAD - World of Music Arts and Dance - artist Peter Gabriel
IFIF main goals
Our nonprofit Film Festival is designed to educate and inspire audiences about critical issues. Through film, we learn new ways to see our world and in that way challenging each individual as well as Environmental communities to work together to increase awareness and affect social change.
IF IF Mission in 2011
is to give this region a new influx of tourism and national and international media coverage. Montemor-o-Novo displays a beautiful countryside, a rich history of religious orders, rural nobility, beautiful 17th century manor houses, convents and churches. Today the place seems to develop into a new culture hub in Portugal.
In selecting films
for the festival, IFIF concentrates equally on artistic merit and Sustainable solutions content. The festival encourages filmmakers around the world to address all social matter in their work and present films from both new and established international and local filmmakers.
